Welcome Break Charitable Fund – Charity Partnership Applications
Applications will open on Monday 26th January until Friday 27th February.
Welcome Break is proud to launch our charity partner selection process through the Welcome Break Charitable Fund. We are seeking to partner with impactful, values-aligned charities that can deliver meaningful, measurable change across the UK.

This partnership will be structured as a 3-year contract with the option to extend for a further 2 years, subject to mutual agreement and performance review.
For every £1 raised through the Welcome Break Charitable Fund, 65p will be donated directly to the selected charity partner. In addition to financial contributions, the partnership may include in-kind donations, provided at the discretion of Welcome Break
Please Note: As part of our ongoing partnership with BBC Children in Need, we dedicate all fundraising efforts to their appeal for a six-week period leading up to Appeal Night. Any fundraising during this time is therefore excluded from our main partnerships.
Applications will open on Monday 26th January until Friday 27th February.
To reflect the different regulatory environments and regional needs, we are operating two separate application platforms:
Application 1 – for charities registered in England, Scotland, and Wales
Application 2 – for charities registered in Northern Ireland
Each will distribute 65% of the funds raised to the charity partner, within its respective region through the Welcome Break Charitable Fund.
Application 1: England, Scotland, and Wales
We are seeking to partner with a UK and Scotland-registered charity that aligns with our values and has the capacity to deliver measurable impact on a national scale.
Eligibility Criteria:
Legal and Regulatory Status
- Must be registered with the Charity Commission for England and Wales and/or the Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator (OSCR)
- Must have been operational for a minimum of 3 years
- Must not work with a direct competitor (e.g., another motorway service area provider either fundraising or strategic)
Financial Threshold
- Minimum annual income of £500,000 (as reported in the most recent financial year)
- Must provide audited or independently examined accounts for the past two years
National Reach and Impact
- Must demonstrate national impact across the UK and Scotland, with services delivered in multiple regions.
- Must have a clear mission and track record of delivering measurable outcomes aligned with our charitable vision & mission
Governance and Transparency
- Must have a board of trustees and a clear governance structure
- Must be compliant with all relevant charity regulations and reporting requirements
- Must be willing to share impact reports, case studies, and data
Partnership Readiness
- Dedicated point of contact for corporate partnerships
- Ability to co-create campaigns, events, or employee engagement opportunities
- Willingness to collaborate on marketing and communications
Exclusions
We will not consider applications from:
- Political or religious organisations
- Charities with ongoing investigations or serious regulatory concerns
- Organisations that do not align with our company’s values or ethical standards
Application 2: Northern Ireland
We are inviting applications from Northern Ireland-registered charities to become our official charity partner. The selected organisation will work with us to deliver meaningful impact across the region.
Eligibility Criteria:
Legal and Regulatory Status
- Must be registered with the Charity Commission for Northern Ireland (CCNI)
- Must have been operational for a minimum of 3 years
- Must not be in partnership with a direct competitor (e.g. another forecourt service area provider either fundraising or strategic )
Financial Threshold
- Minimum annual income of £250,000 (as reported in the most recent financial year)
- Must provide audited or independently examined accounts for the past two years
Regional Reach and Impact
- Must demonstrate regional impact across Northern Ireland, with services or programs delivered in multiple counties or communities
- Must have a clear mission and track record of delivering measurable outcomes aligned with our charitable vision & mission
Governance and Transparency
- Must have a board of trustees and a clear governance structure
- Must be compliant with all CCNI reporting and regulatory requirements
- Must be willing to share impact data, case studies, and reports
Partnership Readiness
- A dedicated contact for corporate partnerships
- Ability to support joint campaigns, events, or employee engagement initiatives
- Willingness to collaborate on marketing and communications
Exclusions
We will not consider applications from:
